Wildlife Art and Animal Art Virtual Exhibition Schedule for 2026

Below is Wild Heart Gallery's list of virtual art shows planned for 2026. Art call deadlines and virtual exhibition dates are included. We do our best to make sure that we adhere to our planned schedule, but art calls are subject to change.

Individual art calls will be posted on our website in more detail closer to their respective deadlines. Applications will be open at that time.

Each art call is open internationally for all art styles in 2D and 3D art. We do not accept AI art, video, or sound art.

January: 4th Annual Animal Portraiture Open

Submission Deadline: December 20, 2026

All animals
Portraiture-specific artwork

February: Masters of Equine Art

Submission Deadline: January 20, 2026

Horses, zebras, donkeys, and their relatives

March: Colorful Creatures

Submission Deadline: February 20, 2026

All animals
Artwork that focuses on color or has interesting color aspects

April: HOWL: The Art of Dogs 2026

Submission Deadline: March 20, 2026

Dogs, canines, wolves, foxes, coyotes, and their relatives
Howling not required. We are looking for art that shows the epitome of "dog" or "wolf" and so on

May: Masters of Wildlife Art 2026

Submission Deadline: April 20, 2026

Wild animals

June: 5th Annual WINGS

Submission Deadline: May 20, 2026

Winged or flying animals
Examples include birds, flying fish, insects, flying squirrels, and so on

July: MOOD. Animals with Attitude

Submission Deadline: June 20, 2026

All animals
Artwork that shows emotion and/or attitude

August: Masters of Domesticated Animal Art 2026

Submission Deadline: July 20, 2026

Domesticated animals, i.e. pets, farm animals, working animals, etc.

September: 5th Annual Wild Art Open

Submission Deadline: August 20, 2026

Wild animals
Anything goes, as long as there is a wild animal in the artwork

October: Ebb and Flow 2026

Submission Deadline: September 20, 2026

Water-centric animals
Marine animals, fish, sharks, whales, crabs, shore birds, etc.

November: The Art of Animals

Submission Deadline: October 20, 2026

All animals

December: ROAR: The Art of Cats 2026

Submission Deadline: November 20, 2026

Cats, wildcats, domesticated cats, and their relatives
Roaring not required. We are looking for the epitome of "cat" in your artwork.
