How to Sign Up and Enter Art Competitions on ArtCall.org

This instructional video shows how to

1. Find Wild Heart Gallery's art calls on our website

2. Go to the art call prospectus and entry page on ArtCall

3. Register/sign up for ArtCall

4. Add one or more submissions to your entry

5. Do basic editing of the image(s) during upload, if needed

6. Edit submission details

7. Edit or change the image associated with your submission

Steps for How to Sign Up with ArtCall.org

These instructions will show you how to sign up for one of our calls for art on ArtCall.org. ArtCall.org is the website and jurying service we use to manage our art calls. They help keep everything organized for us and accessible for entrants.

Start at our homepage, wildheartgallery.com

1. Tap Calls for Art in the top menu

   The Calls for Art page loads. All open art calls will be listed here.

2. Click on an art call (the image or the text)

   The page for that art call opens. Basic instructions and/or the prospectus are on this page. Please read.

3. To apply for that art call, tap Apply Now.

The ArtCall.org website loads.

• Read through everything here to make sure that you really are clear on what needs to happen: like the deadline for entries; notification of jury results; and the virtual show dates, etc.

• At the bottom of this page, there is a New Users Tutorial that was created by ArtCall.org. If you have additional questions, please watch the New Users Tutorial.

• At the top of this page, there is a Contact button. Use this if you still have questions. It generates an email to us here at Wild Heart Gallery.

To proceed with your entry, tap Register and Apply.

1. Create a user account (if you have already done this, simply login instead). Type in your First Name, Last Name or Surname, and Email Address. I tend to let the password auto-generate because I love using strong passwords!

2. Tap Create Account.

   The website reads, “Update profile step one of three. Update your profile with required profile fields.” You can edit your profile anytime up until the close of submissions.

3. Tap the X or press Got It

4. Edit or add any information necessary.If you have a Preferred Name you use as an artist that is different from the name already entered, please, type it in. If not, please leave Preferred Name blank.You can add the country you’re in.

5. PLEASE add one or all three of these: Instagram, Facebook, and Website. For Instagram, please use @yourusername.For Facebook, please provide the whole web address facebook.com/yourusername.For Website, please provide the whole web address.

6. Tap Update User Profile when you are finished making changes.

To add a new submission, ArtCall.org asks for payment before artwork details or images are uploaded.

1. Select the appropriate option. In most cases, there will only be one option: One to Two Submissions.

2. Add your credit card information. (Wild Heart Gallery does not have access to this information. It is dealt with securely by ArtCall.org. Wild Heart Gallery never sees your credit card number.)

   Only credit cards are accepted by ArtCall.org If PayPal is your only option, contact us at Wild Heart Gallery by tapping the Contact button at the top of the screen. We will figure out a solution with you so that you can use PayPal if there is no other option.

3. Once your credit card information is entered, tap Submit Payment.

The Submit Entry Page loads.

• This is where you will add entry details and upload your images.

• There is a 60 minute time limit for entering information. Don’t stress. Hover over the 60-minute notification to see a tip that reads, “If more time is needed, you can tap the Submit Entry Details button to submit incomplete data which will allow for an additional 60 Minutes. Data is auto-saved every minute for recovery in case of time expiration.”

• So if you’re working on your entry and it is taking more than 60 minutes to complete, or you’re getting worried, just tap the Submit Entry Details button because you can edit your entry afterwards.

Let’s get started.

1. Choose a Category that best describes your art piece. Each separate art piece entered can have a different category. If you aren’t sure which category to choose, select Other Media. The jurors will figure it out.

2. Type in the Title of the art piece.

3. Type in Height and Width (in inches).If the art piece is framed, please do not include the frame size. Please only type in the size of the art piece.

   If the art piece is a sculpture or has depth to it, then also type in the Depth (in inches).If not, then leave Depth blank.

4. If there is a text field for Materials or Medium, please type in the materials used to create the piece, i.e. oil on canvas, found-object sculpture, charcoal and white pastel on paper, etc.

5. For the Description, please accurately describe the art piece. This can include a description of what the art piece looks like (Close-up photograph of a raven with water splashing and beading on its feathers.), why you made the art piece (I used plastic bottle caps to create the whale in this ocean-scape to draw attention to the dangers of plastics in our waters), or anything else a viewer would find helpful, informative, or intriguing about your art piece.

6. Only include a Linked Web Resource if there is a resource online that you used to create your art piece that we should be aware of.

7. Check the box for “I agree to terms and conditions.”

8. Tap Submit Your Entry Details.

You are now ready to add your first art piece image!

1. Tap Attach File and navigate to the image file you would like to submit. JPG, GIF, and PNG files are all acceptable. Please refer to the prospectus or art call information pages for file size recommendations and/or limits.

2. Tap Upload. (There is also an option to Drag and Drop your image. Feel free to do whichever is easier for you.)

3. The image appears inside an image editing tool. For right now, just tap Done.

4. Upload progress is shown. Wait until upload completes before you do anything else.

5. Once upload is complete, tap X or Got It to continue.

You're first art piece is successfully submitted!

1. If you would like to enter a second art piece, tap Add or Add New Submission.

2. Repeat the same steps as before: choose a Category, type the Title, add the Height, Width, and Depth if needed, and check the box for “I agree to the Terms and Conditions.”

3. Finally, tap Submit Entry Details.

Now you are ready to attach the image file for this art piece. The process is the same as before.

1. Tap Attach File and navigate to the image file you would like to submit.JPG, GIF, and PNG files are all acceptable. Please refer to the prospectus or art call information pages for file size recommendations and/or limits.

2. Tap Upload.(There is also an option to Drag and Drop your image. Feel free to do whichever is easier for you.)

3. The image appears inside an image editing tool. For right now, just tap Done.

5. Once upload is complete, tap X or Got It to continue.

And that’s it!

An email will be sent to you from ArtCall.org with instructions on how to access your entry so that you can edit it, etc.
