Congratulations to each artist whose work was accepted into Wild Heart Gallery's ROAR, the Art of Cats, juried art exhibition! Artists were asked to submit their best artwork of cats, wild or domestic.

WHG's goal is to support and promote animal and wildlife artwork in a wide range of genres and styles. The entires for this exhibition were perfect! We received even more entries of domestic cats than wild ones. We are excited by the overall quality and skill of the work, so there is a "Selected Works" section for this exhibition as well.

Artwork for this exhibition was selected by jury based on originality, technique, skill, and quality of work.

Awards: Best in Show, Best Domestic Cat Artwork, Best Wild Cat Artwork, Overall Runner Up, Overall Honorable Mentions, Best in Category, and Special Merit Awards. More award details below.

BEST IN SHOW BEST DOMESTIC CAT ARTWORK

Fashionable Feline, by Maartje Fleetwood, black and white sphinx cat in a black and white striped sweater, expertly painted.
by Maartje Fleetwood

Fashionable Feline, by Maartje Fleetwood 9in x 12in, oil paint on hardboard From the artist, "To me, animals seem to have a deep emotional internal world, that we know very little about. But I am convinced it's there, just by observing my own animal companions. Loose brushstrokes, anatomy and gesture are key to my work, because I believe they bring a liveliness to the painting. This helps me in my ultimate goal; to bring out the character of my subject to my best abilities. Are animals really that different from us?"
