Meet Guest Juror, Christine White

Artist, Christine White
Christine White

Christine White is a painter and geographer. She holds a Masters in Geography from University of South Carolina (Columbia), and moved to California to work for a mapping software company in 2007. In 2019, she left the tech industry to pursue art full time, with a personal mission to use her art to build stronger, kinder bonds with the people, creatures, and places we encounter.

Working primarily in oil, she creates both classically rendered paintings and three-dimensional multimedia works that integrate up-cycled materials. Advocacy for the environment and honoring nature are themes in her work.

Christine has also: worked as a rock-climbing instructor, a project manager/technical advisor, served as the Board Chair of an earth science non-profit, won art awards (Susan K. Black, Redlands Festival of the Arts, National Orange Show), juried art shows, modeled for life drawing classes, taught painting workshops and is on the art teaching staff at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. She is an artist in residence at The Los Angeles Makery.
